Fall is when we celebrate the harvest of the summer’s bounty and the hard work small farmers have been undertaking for months. This is our chance to indulge in the veggies that have been growing and thriving all summer and are now either ready for harvest or already in bushel baskets waiting to be sold.
Think rich, orange pumpkins, rich squash, ripe tomatoes, crunchy carrots, and crisp apples….the cooler weather invites you to bake and cook with these time honoured fall ingredients. If you have some spare room in your fridge (or belly), now is the time to stock up on Mother Nature’s bounty from your local farmers’ market.
