We could think of worse things than being stranded at the drive-in with Danny Zuko this summer! Maybe it’s because of the 1950s movie Grease, or maybe it’s just because it’s an awesome experience, but there’s something about the drive-in that reminds us what it feels like to fall in love for the very first time.

It’s true the warm summer air and starry nights combine perfectly for a romantic experience. Throw in a bag of popcorn and maybe a few kisses (the chocolate kind!) and you may fall in love here. Head to the drive-in this summer and resurrect your love for a good old-fashioned drive-in experience (and maybe each other).

Opened in 1953 and located mid-way between Smiths Falls and Perth, the Port Elmsley Drive-in looks like it could have been the original set for Grease. You’ll want to get there early to get your perfect spot, and then sit and watch the stars appear one by one, while the air cools and the world slows down, just a little. Visit their website to check what’s coming up on their schedule.

Insider's Tip:

Visit a local eatery in Smiths Falls and pick up some Asian fusion from Boomtown or something sweet and savoury like a sandwich from C'est Tout Bakery  and stop for a bite to eat beside the Rideau Canal before the show or bring it with you!
