Located within a one-hour drive of Ottawa and just a short drive from Perth, Almonte, and Carleton Place, you can pair a cozy, rustic stay with exploring charming local towns and experiences.
Walk along the well-kept paths past the hobby farm, where you’ll be greeted by the friendly sheep, chickens, and Chef the pig. Outside, they provide an outdoor fire pit, firewood and BBQ.
All the amenities you need to make it cozy for enjoying the outdoors. Inside, you’ll find everything you need in a minimal yet intentional setting, a space that’s fully equipped for cooking, relaxing, and enjoying your time.

Perth
Perth truly feels like a hallmark town, with its charming downtown filled with heritage stone buildings, boutique shops, cozy cafés, and a great selection of restaurants that make you want to linger all day. Start your day with a coffee and a piece of pie for breakfast at the Perth Pie Co.
Yes, you read that correctly, you will not be disappointed. Spend the morning exploring downtown’s local shops.

Almonte
If you enjoy uncovering local gems, sipping tasty coffee, and wandering through a picturesque riverside town, Almonte is the place for you. Explore the downtown area and browse through shops such as Big Vintage, Packrats Bazaar, Pêches et Poivre and Cheerfully Made. For lunch, stop at North Market for seasonal favourites, and enjoy the menu that never disappoints.
Spend the afternoon taking in the river views at the iconic waterfall, then visit Dairy Distillery for a quick tasting or happy hour before dinner.

I highly recommend having lunch at The Blue Spoon Atelier and ordering the creamy pesto chicken sandwich. Otherwise, plan to head in for an evening.

Maplestone Ranch and Retreat
If you prefer a quiet day spa tucked away in Lanark County, where you can rest, relax and enjoy the outdoors. During the winter months, they offer a Winter Escape Package. Unlike traditional spas, where you’re sharing space with other guests, you get exclusive access to the entire space. Nearby Hiking Trails
This hiking trail is unique because there’s an opportunity to see Canada’s largest colony of Showy Lady’s Slipper orchids. The trail is considered easy and approx. 2 km, taking you through an upland forest to an incredible lookout. Keep note that this trail is open from May to October.
The Baird Trail in Lanark Highlands is considered one of the most beautiful trails in the area. You’ll walk through the largest individual maple and beech trees in the area.
If you’re looking for something a bit more challenging, hike the Blueberry Mountain Trail. This 5km hike brings you to one of the prettiest views in the area (especially when visiting in the Fall). Pack a lunch, and enjoy the outdoors for the afternoon.
