His is a story of success –a story of triumph. He’s spent his life working hard, never succumbing to circumstance, but instead pushing forward and altering his environment to prevail.
Justin Beaver is a true Canadian. To many, he is a symbol of national identity, a unifying force akin to the maple leaf or a good ol’ hockey game. He achieved stardom at a young age and is well known for the unique music he makes with his tail, as well as the trails he blazes.
With a growing fan base, Justin searches for moments of privacy to be with his family and has created two homes away from the masses in Haliburton County. He and his family spend many of the colder months at their winter home on Beaver Bay, and vacation at their summer home built under the dock at Sunny Rock B&B when water levels drop. He’s implemented security measures to keep both fans and foes at a reasonable distance, establishing private underwater entrances for both homes.
In true Canadian fashion, Justin takes the winter months in stride, even embracing a few ‘polar dips,’ but is quick to throw off the thick coat and bask in the sunlight at the early signs of warmer weather. He makes time to slow down and enjoy the warm summer months outside of his studio, often swimming laps, or enjoying the warm sun on his belly while he lounges on his back and indulges in a feast of local ferns.
Not one for a strict schedule, Justin often hosts surprise performances for visitors to Sunny Rock B&B while they bask in the sunshine on one of the property’s many decks, enjoying the feeling of warmth on their skin, the fresh breeze rolling off the lake, and the natural entertainment.
Visiting Sunny Rock B&B, it’s easy to understand why Justin has chosen to retreat to such a secluded spot as this hidden gem feels a world away from it all. This is a place where one can easily disconnect from the everyday, watch sunlight sparkle against the water as they enjoy their morning coffee, curl up with a good book, indulge in savoury delights, and rest in true comfort.
