It’s been a long time since we’ve been able to gather in person, and the moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here. If you have been missing gathering with friends and family to watch a live performance, dance under the stars, or just hang out together, the time is now.
Celebrate the summer in person at one of these fun events in Ontario’s Highlands.
Buskerfest – Stirling
When: Aug. 13-15, 2021
Where: Kings Mill Cider, 596 Kings Mill Rd., Stirling
Remember when festivals and events featured buskers strutting their stuff on streets and sidewalks? This summer, you can see all the best of busker-action at the Kings Mill Cider Buskerfest. A partnership between Kings Mill Cider and The Stirling Festival Theatre, this event is located on 37-acre area (lots of room to physical distance) and features music, comedy, juggling, magic, and more.
Tickets: Are $25 per person or $60 per person for a weekend pass, with youth and family pricing available. Only 60 tickets are available per timeslot so don’t delay in getting yours!
Yoga in the Park – Smiths Falls
When: Saturdays, July and August
Where: Centennial Park, Smiths Falls
Spread your mat alongside the Rideau Canal and do a refreshing and invigorating yoga workout in this group class (physically distanced) outdoors. This class is free, fun, and afterwards you can explore the downtown just a short walk away from the park.
Music by the Basin – Smiths Falls
When: Fridays in August, 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Where: Centennial Park, Smiths Falls
Enjoy cold beer and good music at the same time while relaxing by the shores of the Rideau Canal. This event runs until September 3, 2021.
Tickets: No tickets required, just arrive and enjoy! Contact tracing will take place on site. Health guidelines will be followed.
Music at the Gardens – Haliburton
When: Aug. 6-8, 2021
Where: Abbey Gardens, Haliburton
Choose the day you’d like to visit or visit them all! This event is an outdoor musical experience under a marquee tent at Abbey Gardens. Some performances include a seated dinner outdoors.
Tickets: Range in price from $20 to $125, depending on the performers. Book a weekend pass for $300.
Bigger Together Music Concert – Minden
When: August 14, 6:30 p.m. gates open, 8 p.m. showtime
Where: Minden Fairgrounds
Have fun at this Big Brothers Big Sisters event and know you are giving to a good cause at the same time. This is a drive-in experience featuring performances by the Steel Horse Gypsies with special guest New Moon Junction.

Petawawa Craft Beer Festival – Petawawa
When: Sept. 17-18, 2021
Where: Petawawa Civic Centre – Kinhut, 16 Civic Centre Rd., Petawawa
Chill out with an afternoon of guitars, ukuleles, and music to entertain you while you savour craft beer, cider, and spirits.
Tickets: $20 admission includes live music performances. Sampling tickets are $20 for a strip of 10. Tickets must be ordered in advance through Eventbrite.
Waterfront Live! – Pembroke
When: July 5 to Aug. 29, 2021
Where: Riverwalk Amphitheatre, Pembroke
Just like the name implies, this event is a chance to watch live music at the waterfront in the heart of the Ottawa Valley, in Pembroke. Nightly music beneath the stars on a warm summer night, what could beat that?

Cavestock Concert Series – Eganville
When: Aug. 19 and Aug. 26, 2021
Where: Bonnechere Caves, Eganville
The Bonnechere Caves are once again hosting their popular live music series featuring Local Ladies Who Rock on the Rock on Aug. 19 and Rock and Roll Singalong Picnic on Aug. 26. Both shows start at 6:30 p.m.
