The lush green forests, colourful wild flowers, and sparkling lakes that cover Ontario’s Highlands each summer combine to make sights around almost every corner that are truly picture-perfect. It’s no wonder the rich colours inspire so many paintings, the rolling rivers so many sketches, the textured forests so many carvings, and the shapes of nature so many sculptures.
This is a region that is home to many talented artists, who each year invite visitors to share in the beauty they experience every day: to marvel at twinkling glass in the sunlight; feel the warm curves of smooth pottery; get lost in the depths of painted lakes and forests; and to bring home a piece of artwork to adorn their homes with one small reminder of it. Celebrate creativity under the warm sun at art festivals and events across Ontario’s Highlands this season.
