Come Wander
Live Theatre Performances

There’s something special about going to a live show, and it can’t be narrowed down to one specific thing. It’s a combination of moments: the feeling of awe at the talent in front of you; the buzz and excitement of the audience around you; and the journey you’re taken on for a couple of hours as your mind leaves the theatre and is transported into another world.

Whether it’s a musical that makes your toes tap, a performance that brings you to tears, or an act filled with pure joy and momentous occasions, there is nothing quite like it. Grab tickets to a performance from one of the groups below, then sit back and let them take you on an incredible journey.

Classic Theatre Festival

Performances June – September

Witness the incredible talent of some of Canada’s top theatre artists during a performance by Classic Theatre Festival as you travel back in time to the golden age of western theatre – the 1970s – with this professional theatre company in Perth. Laugh out loud as you explore the excitement of WWII-era New York City; follow along with twists and turns as a formerly successful playwright takes on a deadly game to steal a script; get outside the theatre to stretch your legs and expand your mind during a theatrical walking tour; and more this summer.

Highlands Opera Studio

Performances July & August

Be amazed by the talent and strength of some of Canada’s best young voices as you take in a powerful performance that fills the intimate space around you. As a professional training program and performing arts organization, Highlands Opera Studio brings the incredible world of opera to the Haliburton Highlands. Let the beauty of the human voice take you on a journey during one of three Masterclasses with Richard Margison, five operatic and musical Concerts, or a production of Puccini’s opera Suor Angelica as part of Women in Opera: Then & Now, and Ariadne auf Naxos by Richard Strauss.

Tweed & Company Theatre

Performances Year Round

Enjoy an evening filled with laughter, entrancing storytelling, and irresistible, toe-tappingly good music with Tweed and Company Theatre – a creator and producer of Original Canadian Musical Theatre in Hastings County. Sway to the powerhouse vocals of Jessica Wilson performing hit songs and original tunes; laugh at the hilarity and unexpectedly touching moments that arise when a distinctly rural Canadian prenuptial tradition goes a little awry; indulge in a harvest dinner as cabaret notes fill the building; satisfy a curious mind while participating in a musical mystery dinner theatre; and more during their 2019 season.

Stone Fence Theatre

Performances July & August

Travel back in time with this Ottawa Valley theatre group who highlight the heritage and history of the Ottawa Valley through theatre, music, dance, and comedy. This summer, laugh along with the hilarious memories depicted during Up at Fred’s – Allons-y! Get swept away in a musical journey into history to explore the story of Fred Meilleur, his family, guests, and the remarkable Hotel Chapeau, located in the little town of Chapeau, with a unique mix of locals: half French, half Irish (no one said English), and almost all intermarried.
