Come Wander
Bon Echo Park Landscape for Group of Seven

With breathtaking lakes, incredible lookouts and trails that lead to “OMG” panoramas, it’s no surprise that the Group of Seven – a community of Canadian landscape artists from the 1920s and 1930s – found so much inspiration in Ontario’s Highlands. And you can, too!

Walk (or paddle) in their footsteps to discover the places that became the vision for some of our nation’s most notable art, like the A.Y. Jackson Trail, Bon Echo Provincial Park or the 100-metre high Mazinaw Rock, and feel a little more connected to our environment, our culture and our artistic identity.

Check out the Ottawa and Ottawa Valley Discovery Route for a reference point of “must hit” spots in the Ottawa Valley. Or take advice from The Wanderer and begin by exploring Bon Echo Provincial Park – click on the video below to see her journey of discovering this one-of-a-kind Group of Seven landmark.
