Whether you’re looking to burn up extra energy on the weekend or for a mid-week adrenaline rush, this road trip will have your heart pumping and muscles feeling the burn.
Day 1
Start your trip off with an overnight stay in a cabin at OWL Rafting on the Ottawa River and take advantage of the beach volleyball courts and disc golf to get your muscles warmed up for the weekend ahead. Book a package including dinner, or grab dinner at Whitewater Brew Pub – either Lakeside or Riverside – and listen to the friendly chatter of locals over a pint of beer from this brewery, founded along the banks of the Mighty Ottawa River – the backdrop for your next day’s adventures.
Day 2
Buckle up your lifejacket, strap on your helmet, and get a grip on your paddle as you get ready for the adventure of a lifetime. Whether you’ve chosen to Sport Yak on your own, to Adventure Raft in a big boat with 11 others, or to ride the waves in a smaller Sport Raft, spend the day atop (and maybe occasionally dipped in the roaring Rocher Fendu rapids of the Ottawa River during a trip with the iconic OWL Rafting on the Ottawa River.
Each trip includes a unique pontoon cruise back to OWL Resort to give your muscles a rest; get comfortable in your warm, dry clothing; and refuel your body with a delectable barbecue meal served on board while enjoying the views of the Ottawa River. Relive the dips, spills, and laughter, and share your battle stories with other brave souls back at the Resort, then point your car south and head to Calabogie to continue your journey.
Depending on your energy level, consider a hike to Eagle’s Nest Lookout to work some different muscles and have your breath taken away by the view before checking into Calabogie Peaks Resort for the night.
Feeling a tad tired from the big day? We don’t blame you. Stay on site and enjoy a taste bud-thrilling dinner at Canthooks, the FeastON Certified restaurant onsite, before a muscle-soothing dip in the hot tub under the stars.
Feeling like you want to ride your adrenaline-high into the night? Head into Calabogie to indulge at another FeastON certified restaurant and watch the sun set over Calabogie Lake from the patio at Valley Food & Drink Co.
Day 3
The last day of the trip is certainly no time to sleep in. Get your muscles working by renting a watercraft for an early morning paddle or let Calabogie Lake wake you up with a refreshing swim at the Resort’s beach.
Keep those muscles working by booking a tour with Valley Cycle Tours to fill your lungs with fresh air and work up a sweat exploring the beautiful scenery from two wheels.
If you’re visiting on a Supercar Night, take to the track at Calabogie Motorsports Park to drive the supercar of your dreams with 1MoreLap before you head home. Grip the wheel, rev your engine, and get ready for an exhilarating ride.
Looking for a longer visit?
If you feel like prolonging the adrenaline rush, extend your trip to explore Perth and the surrounding area by peddle or paddle!
Rent a canoe or kayak at Perth Outfitters, dip your paddle and push yourself along the Tay River as you get a different perspective of this heritage town. Cool off by paddling through three fountains and feeling the refreshing spray of water against your sun-warmed skin.
Hop on a bike and travel back in time during a guided tour with Heritage Bikes and Rentals to experience the days when duals were fought, cheese was massive, canals serviced the community, and whiskey was distilled in this historic town.
