Come Wander
Winter Getaway in Haliburton

Lauren Marinigh, a Toronto resident and writer behind Twirl the Globe blog, loves to travel in the winter – to sunny places that promise tons of sand and require a walk through an airport scanner. Instead of a large suitcase and travel insurance, Lauren grabbed a weekend bag and a pal on a cold Friday afternoon after work, and headed for #MyHaliburtonHighlands, just 2.5 hours from the city. In a winter getaway that she calls “secluded, homey and relaxing”, Lauren uncovered the surprising, awesomely wintery side of Cottage Country.
