Lauren Marinigh, a Toronto resident and writer behind Twirl the Globe blog, loves to travel in the winter – to sunny places that promise tons of sand and require a walk through an airport scanner. Instead of a large suitcase and travel insurance, Lauren grabbed a weekend bag and a pal on a cold Friday afternoon after work, and headed for #MyHaliburtonHighlands, just 2.5 hours from the city.
